Call for Papers

The NSBE Aerospace Systems Conference (NSBE ASC) is a biennial forum for dissemination and technical exchange of information on technologies, applications, and developments in aeronautical and space industries or disciplines. It is conducted in February of even-numbered years by the Space Special Interest Group of the National Society of Black Engineers–Alumni Extension to provide a unique opportunity for networking and technical exchange among professionals and post-graduates and their contemporaries and leaders in the aerospace systems field.

Technical papers are sought that cover aerospace and related topics spanning the ten tracks listed below. Papers covering theories, methodologies, designs, products, systems and applications are solicited. Desired content includes status, developments, or results of ongoing/recent projects and missions, studies related to planned missions, concepts and technologies related to future missions, as well as important industry initiatives, trends, and program milestones. Tracks of primary interest include:

Aerospace Simulation & Testing
Avionics and Software
National Defense Aviation & Space Systems
Systems Engineering
Space Commerce, Tourism, & Colonization
Space Exploration
Space Launch Vehicles
Space Research of NSBE
Space Science

 

Important Dates:
September 19, 2011 Deadline for submission of extended abstracts or full papers
October 15, 2011 - November 18, 2011 Acceptance/Rejection notification
November 30, 2011 Final version of full papers due electronically
December 16, 2011 Final version of full late-breaking* papers due electronically

*Additional late-breaking paper submissions are still welcome in full length and required format. Authors interested in submitting their work for consideration should contact and closely coordinate with the This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .  They will work with authors to ensure that the submission and review process can be completed in time for final (camera ready) versions of late-breaking papers to be ready for inclusion in the Conference Proceedings.

Abstract Instructions:
Prospective authors are invited to submit full papers (6-page recommended) related to the technical tracks listed above. Papers will be reviewed by up to three referees for relevance to the conference tracks, technical merit and content. Full versions of all accepted papers will be presented at the conference by an author and will appear in the proceedings.
